“The Butcher’s Son” (piece 2 in a set of 2 – see “Butcher’s Wife“) is another piece in the Moroccan series. The reference for these two came from the Atlas Mountains of Morocco where I lived with these Berbers for six months. I used a high speed film for all my photos from that time. Wanting that ‘grainy’ effect, I was able to accentuate it with colored charcoal pencils. Each piece I produced with this technique took hundreds of hours.
