Looking for new subject matter, I remembered my obsession for trees. “General Heitor” is my most ambitious painting in the “Tree Lord” series and is only the first of many tree paintings to come. The idea was to create realistic bark texture using a layering technique with acrylics to achieve that ‘realism’ look. During the process I took creative expression to a deeper level with the bark, look closer, and have fun exploring!
