During Covid, I ventured into the quiet town of Iquitos Peru and took this shot. I knew it had to be a watercolor as I wanted to delve more into that medium. This was one of the 1st paintings I attempted upon my arrival back in my hometown. Life was changing forever right in front of us and I will always hold a vivid memory of this trip and this image. With this piece, I am reminded of the differences of the housing between countries of less fortunate circumstances, but for the peoples living in this simple housing it was all that they knew and they were happy. It reminded me in this complicated world, that often simple is best. This painting helps me accept the serenity of the lives of the people in this town. Another reminder of the emotions that a painting can evoke.
