How much detail and realism can be achieved just using a chalk pencil on black board? This was what I asked myself as I approached this piece. The subject was my friend’s son, who is also the photographer for this reference. I liked the story and the attitude that he was expressing. With chalk, I took advantage of the background (window) as to the direction of light. Once an artist respects and follows the lights laws, realism can be achieved.
