Photographing a parade in Kamloops in the summer of ’92 brought the opportunity for this photo. Sgt. Wilson was actually representing his Great Grandfather who was one of the Rangers guarding the US/Canada border in the early 1900’s. Notice the leather chaps and jacket? The outfit is obviously too big for him. I felt it important to capture that in my story telling composition. Another one of my most detailed drawings. Pencil work is one of the most challenging and rewarding mediums. It can guide you to unbelievable realism.
